STEM Cymru evaluation
Over the three years of the project, STEM Cymru has a target of working with 2 000 students in the Convergence Area To date 746 students have participated, or 143% of the target, for the first year.
Of the 2 000 students 45% should be female the current proportion of females taking part in the project is 31% Girls express a dislike for STEM subjects (especially Maths) and a strong preference for Art and English however as STEM Cymru will more than meet its target number of 2,000 we can be certain that ever effort will be made to get 45% of a cohort of 2,000 from the Convergence Area to be female.
