Environmental Sustainability

Environmental sustainability means the sustainable management of environmental resources and this has an important role to play as one of the Structural Funds programmes’ Cross-Cutting Themes.

Use of the Environmental Sustainability Guidance

There are many opportunities within the programmes to promote the objectives of environmental sustainability.

Important - Users of this guidance should begin by accessing the 'Key Document' which is applicable to all projects. The key document will explain the legislative and policy context in which the theme is operating. It also explains how the nine activity based guidance documents should be used. The activity based guidance documents reflect the strategic frameworks / priorities for the programmes and users will only need to use the activity based document/s relating to their project.
