East Wales Race and Disability Equality Impact Assessments (R&DEIA)

East Wales Race and Disability Equality Impact Assessments (R&DEIA)

Summary reports of the DTZ literature review and consultation events undertaken as part of the R&DEIA, which review the implementation provisions of the East Wales ERDF and ESF Regional Competitiveness and Employment Programmes.

The summary reports are aimed at anyone involved in the development or assessment of Structural Fund Projects and act as an aid to identifying how the Programmes might assist BME and disabled people and ensure accessibility for all to the support of European Structural Funds in Wales.

To keep the documents a manageable length, which reflects one of the findings of the research, the sources for the material referenced in DTZ’s literature review have not been included in the summary documents. Full references are included in the main reports.

The consultation events on the R&DEIAs were conducted by WEFO with organisational assistance from the Valleys Race Equality Council (VALREC) and involved partners who are disabled/Black and minority ethnic (BME) or represent disabled/BME people from across Wales. These events were held in Cardiff, the Valleys, Mid-Wales and North Wales between January and March 2008.
