- Beth fydd y prosiect yn ei wneud?: The project will improve modal interchange in South East Wales through the provision of rail park & ride and improved public transport interchange facilities. Improving interchange is a key factor in achieving sustainable, integrated transport networks. The project will: Improve the integration of public transport modes and services, by implementing schemes that improve the quality, safety and security of bus interchange facilities and enhance links between bus and rail services, and Provide opportunities for those travelling by car to switch to more sustainable transport modes, through the provision of rail park and ride facilities. The project will encourage greater use of public transport by providing safe and attractive opportunities for interchange and improving the integration of transport modes. The provision of high quality interchange facilities will increase the attractiveness of public transport as an acceptable alternative to single occupancy car travel. The project will encourage a modal shift to more sustainable modes of travel, which will reduce levels of car use, remove traffic from the road network and relieve congestion. The project will contribute to a more sustainable transport system and will improve travel choice, increase accessibility to jobs and services and improve connections to the wider region. Improved accessibility will reduce barriers to travel and contribute to socially inclusive communities.
