  • What will the project do?: The main focus of the project is to bring about measures to integrate local services on a cross-sectoral basis, including service re-design, re-engineering and the pooling of resources or budgets where necessary. The following areas have been identified as priority areas for work within the North Wales Coastal Strategic Regeneration Area (SRA)- 1. Housing 2. Employability 3. Community For the integration of local services to occur, It will be necessary to have the following structure for each of the three areas:- 1. Policy Partnership level at the top to provide 'strategic vision' 2. Operational Partnership level underneath to maximise the operational effectiveness of the project 3. Local Implementation level on the bottom, which will be integral in carrying out the 'ground-work' element of the project For each of the three identified areas, each level will operate the same, but will be composed of different representatives in relation to their relevance to each area. For example, in relation to Community, it may be composed of the following:- 1. Policy Partnership level- DE&T, DSJ, Denbighshire County Council, Conwy County Borough Council, Denbighshire Voluntary Service Council and Conwy Voluntary Service Council 2. Operational Partnership level- WAG (Their Community Officers) and Community representative and Community Officers from Local Authorities and VSCs 3. Local Implementation level- The Community First Wards- Glyn, Rhiw, West Rhyl, South West Rhyl and Kinmel bay. The key work will be done at the Local Implementation level, composed of local groups. The idea is that they group themselves into Working Parties to create local plans for local themes such as community safety or community facilities etc. Their target groups will be the hundreds of organised groups in the area.

  • What might be the results of the project?: Collaborative agreements between public service bodies; Sub-regional workforce planning and development strategies; Employers adopting or improving equality and diversity strategies and monitoring systems; Employers adopting or improving Environmental Management Systems
  • What would the project's impact be?: Public service quality improvement; Increase in public service efficiency (including reduced costs of service delivery); Citizen satisfaction with public services
