- Beth fydd y prosiect yn ei wneud?: The project comprises a number of linked initiatives that will secure the approaches to the hub at Burry Port Harbour which is part of the Millennium Coastal Park (MCP). These include: Breakwater extensions and further sanctuaries for vessels at Burry Port. The breakwater extension will further protect the harbour from silting and ensure that it is usable throughout the year. The works will comprise the construction of protective rock breakwaters that will secure navigation to the port and provide enhanced sanctuary for mariners. The capacity of the facilities will also be increased. Coastal protection works at a number of locations on the approaches to Burry Port. The MCP is a continuous ribbon that provides access along a substantial length of the Carmarthenshire coastline linking the upper reaches of the Loughor estuary with Pembrey Country Park. The area has been monitored for some time and surveys will continue with certain aspects of the coastal process analysis being enhanced as the project progresses.
