Submitting project bids
Apply for funding (as a lead project sponsor)
- Ensure your project is eligible for grant support. You should read the guidance within this section, which includes eligibility rules, project and selection criteria and other useful guidance, as well as refer to the guidance under the ‘Developing your Project’ and 'Delivering your Project’ sections of this website.
- Ensure your project fits with the agreed Strategic Frameworks, which are operational strategies that focus on the types of interventions that will best deliver on the Priorities in the Operational Programmes.
- Collaborative planning is an important condition for acceptance of an Expression Of Interest. You will need to look at the Project Idea section of the website where you can view other project ideas, as well as post your own. This will help you to share and discuss your project proposals with other organisations, stakeholders, partners and match-funders who may have an interest in them.
Once you have followed the above steps, you may then request to Submit an Expression of Interest
Once your request is received by WEFO, a project development officer will contact you to discuss proposals and guide you through the first stage of the application process, which is the formal submission of an Expression of Interest (EoI). This will involve registering with the WEFO Online Service, the interactive system that allows applicants to submit, view and manage their grants securely online.
Following the submission of your EOI, WEFO will then undertake an initial assessment against the selection and prioritisation criteria. A favourable assessment will lead to the second stage - the opportunity to submit a more detailed proposal for full assessment by WEFO.
Targeted Match FundThe Welsh Assembly Government has established a Targeted Match Fund (TMF) to provide central match funding to the Structural Funds programmes 2007–2013.
As this is a fund of last resort, applicants will be required to show that all possible efforts have been made to secure match funding from other sources before the TMF is approached.
