Applying for funding

RISE project

WEFO is committed to ensuring that European funds go to those projects that will provide the greatest benefit to Wales, creating jobs and sustainable growth.

We operate an open call for project proposals from the public, private and third sectors – encouraging them to bring forward projects that can deliver on the aims and objectives of the programmes.

Organisations can benefit from European funding under the Convergence and Regional Competitiveness and Employment programmes 2007–2013 in Wales in a number of ways, with this section of the website providing advice and guidance on such opportunities.

Organisations can submit project bids, as a potential lead sponsor, directly to WEFO, with a step-by-step guide available on how to apply.

Organisations can also benefit from European funding as partners in projects or by bidding to deliver project activities of approved projects in response to invitations or notices published on the Welsh Government’s Sell2Wales website.
