The Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) is part of the Welsh Government and manages the delivery of the EU Structural Funds programmes in Wales.

Progress on 2007-2013 programmes

31 October 2014 : 289 projects approved, a total investment of £3.7bn (EU funds £1.9bn - 105% of total EU funds) across Wales.

EU projects have already helped over 187,400 people to gain qualifications and over 59,900 into work, and created over 30,100 (gross) jobs and over 10,400 enterprises.

2014-2020 programmes

The European Regional Development (ERDF) Operational Programmes for the West Wales & the Valleys and the East Wales regions have been approved (November 2014) by the European Commission.

The European Social Fund (ESF) Operational Programmes have been ‘agreed in principle’, with formal approval from the Commission expected within the next few weeks.
